Delta's Major Cabin Makeover: See How They're Transforming Flights

Delta is revamping its cabins with new seats, mood lighting, and sleek designs. Get ready for a whole new flying experience.

So, Delta Air Lines is giving its entire fleet a makeover, which means they are updating everything from the seats to the lighting.

They're starting with the Boeing 757 planes this fall, which mostly fly shorter trips, and will work on the Airbus A350s (bigger planes for longer flights) by 2025.

Instead of tearing out the old seats and putting in brand new ones, Delta is just re-covering the existing seats with new materials. For their most premium passengers in Delta One, they’re replacing the leather seats with a new fabric that’s a mix of wool and nylon.

This new material is lighter and lets air flow better, keeping passengers more comfortable. The headrests, though, will still be leather.

People flying in Premium Select and First Class will get memory foam cushions, which means their seats will be extra comfy.

Delta Comfort Plus and main cabin passengers will have leather seats with new stitching and design details, and for long flights, those seats will also have memory foam.

Delta is also upgrading the lighting on its planes. They’re adding special lights that change depending on what’s happening during the flight. For example, they’ll use warmer, calming colors like amber for sleeping time and make the cabin brighter during the day.

Even the bathrooms are getting a fresh look with bright walls, fancy accents, and blue cabinets.

They're also adding cool new design elements throughout the cabins. Some planes will have dividers between sections of the plane, like First Class and Economy, to make the different areas feel more distinct.

But this makeover process will take a few years as they update each plane when they can.

Even though Delta has pulled back some services at Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG), they are still the busiest airline there, flying to 20 different airports nonstop and even offering a couple of trans-Atlantic flights.

While they’re ending the nonstop flight to Denver soon, they’re adding more flights to Florida, like Fort Lauderdale. So, lots of changes, but more comfort on the way!
