Steve Hogan has been really busy lately because of what’s happening at Camping World Stadium. One interesting thing that happened was when the University of South Florida’s sports director, Michael Kelly, asked Steve if they could use the stadium for a football game because of Hurricane Milton. They needed a place for the game against the University of Memphis on October 12, and they figured it all out really quickly within just two days!
Michael said this teamwork shows how strong their communities are and how dedicated everyone is. They’re really thankful for all the help they got.
Also, Camping World Stadium is going to host the Vans Warped Tour in 2025, which is exciting because it’s the first time this festival will be back in Orlando since 2018.
On top of that, Florida Citrus Sports is working with the city to upgrade the stadium. They have a big plan that costs $400 million, which will be paid for with taxes from hotels. They want to make the upper part of the stadium better, get new seats, and build a new indoor event center.
Steve also talked about the Jacksonville Jaguars. They’re thinking about playing games in Orlando and Gainesville in 2027. They’re still working out details, but they should know more by the end of this year.
Having the Vans Warped Tour return is great for Orlando because it brings lots of visitors. For example, other festivals can attract up to 100,000 people a day! When big music events happen, it helps local businesses because visitors stay in hotels and spend money.
As for the stadium upgrades, everyone is eager to see progress. They’ve been planning for a while, and they’re close to finalizing the financial details. They hope to start construction in late 2025 and be ready by the 2027 football season.
Camping World Stadium has also been involved in big soccer events. They’ve hosted famous teams like Arsenal and Real Madrid, and they’re planning more exciting soccer matches soon.
